Flexible straws were first introduced in 1939 by Joseph Friedman. And at this time he formed the Flexible Straw Corporation later being named Flex Straw Company. His main focus was to make it possible for everyone to enjoy their beverage with out struggling. The first public place that welcomed the idea was hospitals. They seen the ease of the burden of the patients trying to drink. Thus the flexible straws are commonly used in hospitals. In 1969, the Flex Straw Company sold its U.S and foreign patents, trademarks, and licensing agreements to Maryland Cup Corporation which now still sells 500 million flexible straws annually.

Making it easier for the smallest of people, like children to enjoy their favorite drink. Without the burden of struggling which complicated the flow of the beverage. No matter what the reason is for when using flexible straws the benefits are endless. From youngest to the oldest, for the use to be simply just to have fun with the drink or to make it a little easier to drink without struggling or even complicating the flow of the beverage.

And with the manufacturers that produce them, making it a little more common to find them at about everywhere you shop or even on the internet. And yes they are affordable, like everything else the price ranges do vary. With that being said it is possible for just about everyone to be able to own them for you home and family. Making drinking a little easier no matter what the reason is.
Whether it is consider for medical reason to add the ease of drinking with the aggravation or hassle that might be associated in the process. Or even to making a drink easier for children that might not be big enough to drink with out struggling.
